Ogden Junction Plaza
Ogden, Utah
Client: Ogden City
Scope: Landscape Architecture
Junction Plaza is at the heart of Ogden City’s effort so revitalize Downtown Ogden with this modern, state-of-the-art outdoor plaza. This plaza is an extension of the streetscape at the prime corner of the Junction adjacent to the Solomon Center, which has Utah’s first skydiving wind tunnel, surf pool, one of Utah’s largest climbing walls, as well as other fitness and fun attractions. The plaza design plays off the forms and colors of the modern building and Ogden’s rich Art Deco architecture. The design features a bosque of trees with a ‘river of light’ flows through them, terminating in a 42-foot stainless steel sculpture that leans into the angles of the building and rises up out of a sandstone block amphitheater.
