Eccles Theater

Salt Lake City Corporation selected a prime downtown location for the new Eccles Theater on Main Street, just south of City Creek Center. MGB+A worked closely with Salt Lake City Officials to create a strong pedestrian connection to the performing arts center to the surrounding downtown amenities. MGB+A worked with the city and consultant team to upgrade Main Street to respond to the architecture of the new building and its outdoor stage, created a mid-block pedestrian connection between Main Street and Regent Street, developed a multi-use pedestrian gathering plaza that doubles as a loading dock hosting outdoor concerts and other events. The Plaza connects to Regent Street as a new pedestrian street that creates a link between City Creek Center and Gallivan Plaza.
