Client: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
Scope: Landscape Architecture
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has seen an increase in church members in the Salt Lake Valley with a need to supply more temples. Our team worked with a local architect to provide a site plan that displays the temple prominently to the community and provide a temple for members of the church in southeast Salt Lake Valley. This new temple design includes ample outdoor gathering spaces to allow patrons to enjoy the outside of the temple at a similar quality to the building interior. The plazas function as multi-purpose outdoor pedestrian waiting areas, and places to enjoy the dramatic landscape at the mouth of Corner Canyon. Many of the plants were contract grown to quickly blend the new landscape into the adjacent chapel site.
