This residential landscape design is the culmination of over a decade of thought and phased improvements. The original home’s landscape design by MGB+A was built a decade earlier. The second stage, the Observatory Garden, was an idea that germinated years earlier, and finally came to fruition.

MGB+A worked closely with the owner’s builder to assist in designing the observatory building integrating it into the garden. The Observatory Garden, designed to celebrate and support the owner’s love of astronomy, is skillfully integrated into the original site design, using the same materials and design style for a unified experience throughout the property. The landscape design is sited in a stand of native gambel oak and blue spruces preserved using sandstone retaining walls.
